The brief from the clients for this project was to provide some updated storage needs for their newly created media room. The room was to be used as an entertaining area which could double as a drinks storage and serving area. Custom dimensions, heights and storage needs were required for various hi-fi equipment, display ornaments and possessions, taking into account the current style and layout of the room.
Our work
The two pieces we made for this area were a media cabinet and accompanying display / drinks cabinet. These were to be pretty pieces on full display in the client’s home. Both pieces were made with tambour door construction which allowed complete access to the internal cabinet for easy access to storage. The tambour doors were made in a 16mm fluted profile with integrated pulls. Several slatted bottom drawers were installed in the media cabinet to provide ample air circulation for electrical hi-fi equipment. The timber used was American Cherry to blend in with existing vintage pieces in Teak and the warm retro tones of the client’s home.
